God, The Father.
Malachi 2:10 - Have we not all one father? hasn't one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
John 6:25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?" Yeshua (Jesus) answered them, "Most assuredly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled. Don't work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him."
They said therefore to him, "What must we do, that we may work the works of God?" Yeshua answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." They said therefore to him, "What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, 'He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.'" Yeshua therefore said to them, "Most assuredly, I tell you, it wasn't Moshe (Moses) who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."
They said therefore to him, "Lord, always give us this bread." Yeshua said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don't believe. All those who the Father gives me will come to me. Him who comes to me I will in no way throw out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day. This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
The Yehudim (Jews) therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, "I am the bread which came down out of heaven." They said, "Isn't this Yeshua, the son of Yosef (Joseph,) whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, 'I have come down out of heaven?'" Therefore Yeshua answered them, "Don't murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. It is written in the prophets, 'They will all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
The Yehudim (Jews) therefore contended with one another, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Yeshua therefore said to them, "Most assuredly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don't have life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven- not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever." These things he said in the synagogue, as he taught in Kafar-Nachum (Capernaum.)
Therefore many of his talmidim (disciples), when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?" But Yeshua knowing in himself that his talmidim (disciples) murmured at this, said to them, "Does this cause you to stumble? Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life. But there are some of you who don't believe." For Yeshua knew from the beginning who they were who didn't believe, and who it was who would betray him. He said, "For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father." At this, many of his talmidim (disciples) went back, and walked no more with him. Yeshua said therefore to the twelve, "You don't also want to go away, do you?" Shim`on Rock (Simon Peter) answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
Two examples of blasphemy - one translation of the Bible has neutered all gender references and another has feminized the Bible with references to a "mother god."
Goddess worship has an ancient history and has many forms from the Easter or Ishtar celebration to the Mayday celebration of fertility.
In ancient Babylon, a spring festival was celebrated to a pagan goddess of the sun. The western nations that came under the influence of the Roman Empire and Roman Catholicism were deceived into changing the Hebrew celebration of God's Passover to an ancient pagan festival - the worship of Easter or Ishtar. Baal, the sun god and his wife, Ishtar or Easter - the queen of heaven, were worshipped in idolatry. In Babylon, this was Semiramis, the mother/wife of Nimrod, who claimed to be the wife of the sun-god.
SUNday was the ancient day of worship of the sun god. The Roman Catholic religion, founded by roman emperor Constantine and his mother Helena, both former pagans, incorporated elements of pagan religions into early Christianity that are still followed to this day. The Jewish Shabat or Sabbath was replaced with Sunday worship services. At the same time, they removed the observation of the Jewish festivals and anything relating to Judaism even though Jesus or Yesh`ua was a Jew.
The pagan subjects worshipped their pagan goddess in a pagan temple where public sexual intercourse was one form of worship. There were many such fertility cults in which the woman was deified as a symbol of fertility and life. That same evil spirit is alive today and has manifested itself through feminism, wicca and by the fact that women put themselves on a pedestal and want to be worshipped. This is nothing new. Do we not live in a world today where women are portrayed by the media as sexual goddesses in pursuit of their own pleasure who rule their self-centered world by seducing men and women with their sexual powers?
During the observance of Easter in ancient Chaldea, they used hot cross buns and dyed eggs in worship to this mother/goddess. Those pagan rituals are still practiced in many Christian churches today, one of them disguised as an easter egg hunt for the children. According to the book, The Two Babylons or The Papal Worship Proved to be the Worship of Nimrod and His Wife - By the Late Rev. Alexander Hislop, first published as a pamphlet in 1853--greatly expanded in 1858, pgs.107-108, these "buns" were known by the identical name that was used in the worship to the goddess Easter, "queen of heaven", as far back as Cecrops, the founder of Athens, Greece, 1,500 years before Christ!
In Mythology by Bryant, Vol. 1, p. 373: "One species of sacred bread which used to be offered to the gods, was of great antiquity, and called boun." One of several reasons that God allowed the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, called Jews beginning in 2 Kings 16:5-6, to go into national captivity at the hands of the Babylonians was because of this worship of the "queen of heaven", Easter, accompanied by the making of hot cross buns!
The celebration of Easter is pagan but the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ at Passover is not. Jesus observed Passover or Pesach in an upper room with his 12 closest disciples on the evening of the night He was taken captive from the garden of gethsemane by the roman soldiers and the Jewish religious leaders.
As they broke the unleavened bread together and shared the wine cup, Jesus said to them in Luke 22:17 - 14 When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles. He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Pesach with you before I suffer, for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God." He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, "Take this, and share it among yourselves, for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of God comes."
He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me." Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!"
They began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing. There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest. He said to them, "The kings of the Goyim (gentile nations) lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called 'benefactors.' But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves. For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn't it he who sits at the table? But I am in the midst of you as one who serves. But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisra'el."
The gift of salvation and the promise of eternal life is freely given to those who trust in Jesus as their savior. Those who believe, pray, read the Bible and allow themselves to grow in spirit and truth by trusting in Jesus and in the guidance of the Holy Spirit are brought into the family of God and will spend eternity with Him.
