New thought is a combination of new age, pseudo-science, occult, eastern mystic and, sometimes, Christian teachings that are combined to form a new, false religion. The end result is a philosophy of self - that the individual is God. New thought claims that our thoughts are all powerful - creating health, disease, and the foundation for our own individual reality. There is a lot to be said in favor of having a positive attitude, a happy disposition and right actions growing out from a right spiritual nature. But to believe that we, in and of ourselves, can completely control our own reality is a bit off the mark. If we trust in God and don't worry, He will control things and work them out to His favor and to ours.

Eastern mysticism supposes that reality is not real but only in our own minds. But are we, should we be or can we be totally independent from what is happening in the world around us? Some believe that reality is a construct based on a collective reality created by the thoughts of everyone in the world. That way of thinking supposes that we all can shape reality by our collective thoughts. If we could all think and believe, in unity, it would be a force of great power. God knows this and has been trying to get us to believe in Him and have faith in His leadership, sacrificing ourselves to serve others. But, we are not in unity because we do not all believe in the same God or even believe in God at all. Satan also knows this and has been trying to convince us to believe in our own self-interests and personal goals to the exclusion of all or most of the concerns of others. Self-centered and collectively evil thinking leads to the destruction of individuals and to the break down of societies and nations.

New thought is being actively encouraged by religious leaders from many sects and denominations in order to bring about a universalist, one-world religion and one-world government. One example is the cooperation between the World Council of Churches, the United Nations, the Roman Catholic religion, Unitarian religions and some liberal Protestant religious denominations. The media is very active in presenting new thought propaganda through talk shows, regular television series programs and news broadcasts.

The gift of eternal life is freely given to those who trust in Jesus as their savior. Those who believe, pray, read the Bible and allow themselves to grow in spirit and truth by trusting in Jesus and in the guidance of the Holy Spirit are brought into the family of God and will spend eternity with Him.
