Disclaimer: This document is provided for the factual study of the period during which Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and rose from the grave. It also provides an interesting and factual history of the pagan origins of Easter and makes a strong argument that Christians should be celebrating the Passover as God (and Jesus) intended. It's unfortunate when well-researched and historically-accurate information gets mixed up with false doctrine, questionable research, bad spelling and poor grammar.
God's Peace Ministry does not necessarily agree with all the interpretations of scripture in The Sign written by David J. Smith. Specifically, the apostle John writes about his vision, given to him by Jesus Christ in Revelation 12:6 - "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." Mr. Smith claims that in this passage the woman is the church and the 1260 days are referring to 1260 years of the true church fleeing from the persecution of the Pope and the Roman Catholic religion. It is possible that this passage has a double meaning. Most biblical scholars contend that this passage is about Israel (the woman) fleeing to a place of safety (many say Petra in the Jordanian desert,) during the 1260 days (3 1/2 years,) the great tribulation is happening. The wrath of God is poured out on those who have persecuted and oppressed the remnant elect of Israel. This is also refered to the battle of Armageddon.
Mr. Smith takes an interpretive view of scripture that includes doctrinal errors. He suggests that the church has replaced Israel in God's plan - known as replacement theology. He has also written a book in which he presents ideas about a doctrine known as British Israelism - a controversial theory that suggests that Jesus visited the British Isles and that the royal family of Great Britain has a bloodline connection to Jewish heritage, even that of Jesus.
It's difficult to determine how a man so opposed to the new world order, as Mr. Smith appears to be, is willing to link the heritage of Jesus Christ to the British crown - a strong seat of power in the new world order plan.

These links are not given because God's Peace Ministry necessarily agrees with every word in them - links are here to information that can be learned from and researched to assure its validity. Every word should be tested and tried by the Word of God and through prayer, research and diligent searching for the whole, absolute truth - that includes all the pages at this website. When errors are found, they are corrected. When God gives more light and wisdom so that what once was thought to be truth becomes error in light of new found knowledge and wisdom, we must act accordingly and change our beliefs and practices to align with truth.
The gift of eternal life is freely given to those who trust in Jesus as their savior. Those who believe, pray, read the Bible and allow themselves to grow in spirit and truth by trusting in Jesus and in the guidance of the Holy Spirit are brought into the family of God and will spend eternity with Him.
